About the Position The maintenance team s primary function is to service, repair and maintain large-scale commercial laundry equipment to ensure production availability, performance and proper operation of the equipment to meet customer demand. The equipment and services include steam, mechanical, electrical, gas, hydraulic, pneumatic and control systems of production equipment. The primary responsibility of the position is to assist in ensuring ongoing availability of equipment. The maintenance technician will ensure all maintenance works are safely undertaken in accordance with preventative maintenance plans, policies and best practice to deliver outcomes in the following identified areas Contrbute the delivery of the maintance programsResponsibility for working in accordance with safety, standards, risk management and maintenance policies are followed in all procedures.Maintenance Program * Perform regular preventative maintenance on machines, conveyors, equipment, services and facilities * Diagnose problems, replace and repair parts, test and make adjustments to ensure correct operation of plant and equipment. * Awareness of operation and control systems of production and processing equipment. * Ensure all maintenance works are completed on time, to a high standard and in line with CLS maintenance policy, procedures and quality standards. * Responsibility for ensuring all works are performed in accordance with SWMS, SOPs, industry best practice and WHS processes and practices. * Monitor performance and operation of equipment to ensure product output and quality is maintained at the required levels. * Ensure the timely investigation of equipment breakdowns to identify root cause of failure and subsequent allocation of resources to ensure best operational continuity and minimum down time. * Review, update and maintain the computerised maintenance management system (MEX) ensuring accuracy of data. * Work cooperatively with the Production Team to co-ordinate maintenance ensuring that works are conducted on time, with minimal disruption to operations and customer orders, and to ensure a high level of equipment availability and customer service. * Regularly attend toolbox meetings with the maintenance team to discuss work plans, key management message and workplace health and safety. * Knowledge of equipment criticality and CLS key customers and their associated requirements.Reactive& Unplanned Maintenance * Prioritise and action reactive maintenance requests in an efficient and timely manner, with WHS risks and critical equipment given the highest priority. * Escalate and report major breakdowns to the Senior Maintenance Technician or Asset Manager, communicate with other key stakeholders and undertake repairs with internal and external contractors in line with operational requirements. * Assist the Asset Manager and Senior Maintenance Technician where required on complex or urgent maintenance/upgrade activities.Preventative& Planned Maintenance * Ensure that scheduled preventive maintenance is undertaken on all equipment in line with the manufacturers recommendations and/or CLS preventative maintenance schedules. * Conduct routine inspections of equipment operating condition, document issues, and provide recommendations for improvement. * Review operator maintenance and report issues. * Conduct daily inspections in key areas such as boilers and pressure vessels, basement and chemical system.Compliance and Risk Management, Safety, Standards& Maintenance Policies& Procedures * Ensure works are carried out in line Workplace Health Safety (WHS) practices, current standard operating procedures (SOPs), safe work method statements (SWMS), and risk assessment procedures and policies in relation to the safety and protection of staff, members of the public, contractors, the environment and equipment, and in compliance with applicable legislation, regulation and standards. * Regularly review maintenance activities contribute to the development and update associated WHS, SOPs and SWMS * Comply with relevant key public service, organisational and customer policies and procedures such as - ACT Public Service, CLS, TCCS, TCCS Code of Conduct, Respect, Equity and Diversity principles and ACT Health (i.e. Hospital) policies and procedures. * Undertake administration tasks using relevant tools and technology such as mobile ICT devices (including mobile phones, tablets and PDAs) calendar and organiser in addition to computerised maintenance management software * Minimise risks where possible to staff, contractors, other people, equipment, and the environment immediately reported to the Asset Manager or Senior Maintenance Technician and other key stakeholders. * Undertake action to address immediate risks, comply with WHS policies, practices and regulation, and submit recommendations for the longer term improvement of work practices and equipment maintenance. * Participate in incident investigations and assist with the development of recommendations. * Maintain personal and monitor team behaviours to reflect the TCCS Code of Practice, Values, and Behaviours, ensuring professional conduct and confidentiality is maintained at all times. * Maintain personal and monitor team compliance with TCCS and CLS Policies, Procedures, Systems and Processes Other information Type casual Education Currently Completing High School no - Principals only.
