About the Position Canberra - Full time Southern Cross Austereo one of Australia s most progressive and exciting entertainment based media companies has an opportunity in the Network Operations Centre for a Technical Operator at our Television hub in Canberra. The 24/7 Network Operations Centre is responsible for managing remote transmission sites as well as satellite, microwave and fibre optic equipment used for the transmission and reception of television and data. The Network Operations Centre also assists with fault resolution in the Canberra Playout Centre. The right applicant ideally should have good communication skills and a background in digital television techniques. The applicant will also need the ability to quickly analyse the cause of any problems and take appropriate action to work around or resolve them. This position would also suit an enthusiastic person who has recently completed an Electronics and Communications Diploma or Degree with a strong desire to learn and seeking a career in broadcasting. Specialised training in Network monitoring techniques and digital (DVB) Broadcast techniques will be available on the job and through formal training courses.
